Tamahagane Bonsai Katana

€1,999.00

The Bonsai Katana is handmade and folded tamahagane Katana a true clay tempered hamon

Kaizen Sword Art produces some of the most impressive Japanese Katanas available today.

The Bonsai Katana is much more than just a samurai sword - it is a functional work of art. Made of hand-forged and folded tamahagane steel, this sword combines strength and beauty.

Tamahagane is a traditional Japanese steel known for its purity and high quality, and is produced by an intensive iron sand forging and melting process. The blade has a beautiful notare hamon, a wavy tempering line created by clay hardening, which contributes to both the aesthetics and strength of the sword.

The Koshirae is extremely detailed with a kinzu pattern in fuchi and kashira and the attractive bonsai tsuba. The tsuka features a lion dog or shi-shi menuki.

A special feature of the Bonsai Katana is the o-kissaki, the longer tip of the blade, which is shaped with great care and precision. The o-kissaki adds an extra dimension of elegance and strength to the sword, and makes it suitable for complex cutting techniques. This longer tip is not only visually impressive but also functional, and is appreciated by collectors and practitioners of Japanese martial arts alike.

With its balanced blade and tightly wrapped tsuka (grip) in Japanese black cotton, this sword offers superior grip and exceptional control during handling.

The katana is perfectly balanced, making it both an impressive showpiece and a powerful weapon.

Thanks to a strong collaboration between our knowledge and the craft of Kaizen Swords, the quality is outstanding for both the discerning collector and the martial arts practitioner.
